SMPS is pleased to announce that Frank Lippert, FSMPS, CPSM, has been honored with the 2024 Weld Coxe Marketing Achievement Award (WCMAA). Frank, a member of SMPS Sacramento, accepted his award during Amplify A|E|C, the Society’s annual conference, on July 25, 2024, in Salt Lake City, UT.

The Society’s highest honor, the WCMAA, salutes a remarkable marketing or business development professional whose career achievements, leadership role, and lasting contributions to the A/E/C industries are exemplary.

Frank Lippert, FSMPS, CPSM, joins a distinguished group of accomplished members who embody the mission and spirit of SMPS and are valued advisers to the organization. Frank is the 33rd recipient of the award, named in memory of marketing pioneer, SMPS founder, and past honoree Weld Coxe.

Frank is founder/partner of GO Strategies. He provides strategic pursuit planning, strategic market capture planning, and functional seller/doer training to clients throughout the U.S. Frank is all about helping teams work more effectively and more efficiently with processes, schedules, and tools that keep A/E/C firms’ business development strategy and marketing efforts on track. He has worked at small, medium, large, and mega-sized engineering companies in his 30 years in the A/E/C industry. Frank’s infectious energy, humor, and storytelling makes learning about marketing and business development fun, engaging, and memorable.

Within the Society, Frank has held several leadership positions throughout the years, at the SMPS chapter and HQ levels. A large part of Frank’s contribution has been through mentoring – both formally and informally. He has been a part of SMPS Oregon and Sacramento’s mentoring programs and is currently serving in the second consecutive year of the SMPS San Francisco mentoring program.

Frank is also a thought leader and presenter with peer organizations such as ACEC, AIA, and AGC, largely to emerging professionals. This involvement allows him to share experiences directly with the next generation of technical professionals.

“Whether the individual he helps is a marketing professional, a project manager, a client, or an organization like SMPS, his trademark energy and leadership have benefitted hundreds of people in our industry,” says Michael J. Reilly, FSMPS, a 2010 WCMAA recipient and a past SMPS president.

Paula Johnston, senior associate, director of marketing for David Evans and Associates, adds, “For me, he has gone above and beyond, providing personalized guidance and teaching me with real-life examples and his brilliant use of humor. Frank has made a significant impact on my professional development and I wouldn’t be here without him.”

Congratulations, again, to Frank Lippert, FSMPS, CPSM!

SMPS Recognizes Craig Galati With Its Highest Honor https://smps.org/2023/08/10/smps-recognizes-craig-galati-with-its-highest-honor/ https://smps.org/2023/08/10/smps-recognizes-craig-galati-with-its-highest-honor/#respond Thu, 10 Aug 2023 11:00:11 +0000 https://smps.org/?p=44115

SMPS is pleased to announce that Craig Galati, FAIA, FSMPS, CPSM, has been honored with the 2023 Weld Coxe Marketing Achievement Award (WCMAA). Craig, a member of SMPS Las Vegas, accepted his award during Amplify A|E|C, the Society’s annual conference, on August 10, 2023, in Austin, TX.

The Society’s highest honor, the WCMAA salutes a remarkable marketing or business development professional whose career achievements, leadership role, and lasting contributions to the A/E/C industries are exemplary.

Craig Galati, FAIA, FSMPS, CPSM, joins a distinguished group of accomplished members who embody the mission and spirit of SMPS and are valued advisers to the organization. Craig is the 32nd recipient of the award, named in memory of marketing pioneer, SMPS founder, and past honoree Weld Coxe.

Throughout his career, Craig has been a champion for the role of marketing in the A/E/C industries. Early on, he saw firsthand how architectural professionals struggled to understand marketing concepts, which made them more reluctant to embrace marketing and business development activities. What these professionals saw as difficult, Craig saw as opportunity. He jumped into learning all he could about marketing and business development, which led to his continued success. Craig was named a partner in his firm at 29 and became the firm’s marketing principal at 39. To better understand his role, Craig joined the Society for Marketing Professional Services in 1999. Like many other professionals, he credits SMPS for teaching him everything he knows about marketing.

Craig immersed himself in the Society and became very active in his local chapter, as well as SMPS as a whole. He took on many leadership roles including, president of SMPS Las Vegas and Society president at the HQ level, where he helped develop the powerful vision statement, Business Transformed Through Marketing Leadership. Through his endeavors, Craig has demonstrated the critical and valuable role marketing holds in a successful A/E/C firm, and empowered marketing professionals to become confident, strategic leaders as they progress through their careers.

“What truly amazes me about Craig is the courage he has to challenge the norm and inspire people to think differently and look at solutions in a different way,” says David Werking, FSMPS CPSM, who’s director of business development and marketing at ERMCO.

Brent Robertson, co-founder of Fathom, adds, “Craig is an outspoken advocate for change, an unwavering supporter of those who want to elevate the industry, and a community builder who has established lasting relationships with leaders across the country.”

Congratulations, again, to Craig Galati, FAIA, FSMPS, CPSM!
