Attach a statement of your reasons for seeking a position on the SMPS board of directors or the Foundation board of trustees. Include the contributions you believe you would be able to make in the position sought, your position or ideas with respect to any issues currently facing the Society or its members, and any other information you feel may be useful in evaluating your application. In addition to that, the BOD/BOT seeks to have a variety of skills, expertise and experience that contribute to becoming a high performing BOD/BOT. These characteristics can include areas such as: strategic thinking, financial stewardship, being collaborative and respectful, actively contributing to board discussions, having integrity and accountability, being mission driven and having a governance-oriented mindset. Please also discuss how you will contribute to these areas and others as a member of the BOD/BOT. (maximum 750 words).
