After a successful 2016-2017, the SMPS Foundation kicked off our new fiscal year by announcing our latest research topic, Understanding the Neuroscience Behind Decision-Making and How It Can Be Applied to Marketing and Business Development.

As practitioners in the professional services industry, we pride ourselves in providing design and project delivery that enables our clients to succeed in a way they never imagined. Our goal in our work is to always look beyond the project’s specific requirements and find ways to help our clients best serve their own clients. If we do this, then everybody wins. This is similar to the goal of the SMPS Foundation—we are here to serve you, our members, and to help you better serve your firms. To do this, we need your help.

Do you and other firm leaders have a burning issue or topic that we can research for you so that your clients can help their clients be successful? If so, please reach out and let me know. The SMPS Foundation is continuously investigating new topics to add to our toolbox as a resource for SMPS members and their firms. It’s important, to me, that we get it right and prioritize the most relevant research topics. Our areas of focus for 2017-2018 are as follows:

Create a business plan structure for the implementation of our research projects

Cultivate and explore new research topics

Develop ways to raise funds for future research projects

Reach out to our stakeholders, including SMPS members, member firms, and other key organizations, to assist with research to help them develop ways to transform their businesses through marketing leadership

Promote the SMPS Foundation across all channels

Develop processes and procedures for the delivery of our research to stakeholders

Thanks to our SMPS members, member firms, and regional conferences, we were able to raise more than $40,000 this past fiscal year to fund our current research project. We still need your help, though, to continue to raise funds so that we can deliver top notch research to you.

If you’re able to help, there are several ways to make a donation:

Text2Give: To participate, text “Give 25” (to give $25, but you can enter any amount) to 703-991-6181 and follow the prompts.
